After Easter, we often wonder what comes next. That question echoes back to the early disciples who, even after seeing the risen Christ, weren’t sure what to do.

Jesus conquered death, and in doing so, He gave us freedom, forgiveness, and eternal hope. Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Today, our waiting is with anticipation because we know the truth and the truth has set us free.

As we prepare for family, services, and joyful celebration, let’s not forget that Thursday held moments of deep sorrow, challenge, and love. Join me in reflecting on the final evening Jesus spent with his disciples, and let it shape how we celebrate what’s to come.

Jesus had shared with the disciples that he would soon die, be buried, and rise on the third day. Even though the disciples knew this, it was still hard to comprehend. And it would get even harder to understand when the events of Thursday and Friday began.

A family tradition with resurrection eggs becomes a powerful teaching moment, pointing us not only to the empty tomb but also to the deeper truths of Holy Week and the need for personal reflection and prayer.

As we face our own daily routines, we are called to recognize the possibility that God might use us to bring transformation and hope to those around us, just as He did with the resurrection.

The things God initiates God finishes.

God is with us always.

With God all things are possible!

As we live in this season of the kingdom of God being here but not yet fully visible, we can and must walk in resurrection confidence concerning the day Jesus will return and put all things in their proper place of restoration and renewal.

God somehow takes our sadness, our faith, our hope, our confidence in the resurrection, our silence, and our honesty and uses them all mixed together.

Whether we thrive on details or want only the big picture, Jesus has a plan for all of us.

They had no idea of the possibilities that would dawn on that day. Could it be that something life-changing is ahead for us today, too?

I often experience significant stress. There are times I feel like I am locked in, locked out, and locked down. And in moments like these, there is only one who can bring me peace.

They were simply offering the hospitality expected of them, but soon they realized they’d had an encounter like none other.

For followers of Christ, any day is a day to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. So go ahead and celebrate today and every day what the Lord has granted us on this side.
