As I continue to read Scripture, I am challenging myself to look for the parts of the passages I am apt to miss or, worse, ignore. In those verses may well be the things God is trying to correct in us.

Let’s thank God for the freshness of his word.

Over and over and over again we discover that God keeps his promises. Not just some of them but all of them. And God delivers on his promises regardless of whether we believe them.

Maybe it’s because we are in the middle of football season and at the beginning of basketball season that 2 Timothy chapter 1 strikes me as a bit of a half-time locker room talk.

There is no question concerning what God’s great love can and will do for us. His passion for our salvation, well-being, and transformation is guaranteed.

Throughout the centuries many people have felt it important to document their stories. We can be glad for accounts of spiritual progress—and others will be blessed to read what we could write.
